In this inaugural episode, Drs Topol and Teirstein focus on SYNTAX. From the basic questions--Does the trial have value? Has it affected clinical practice?--to the problematic issue of randomizing patients to a 20-minute intervention or a weeklong hospitalization, they also ponder what they have learned from revascularization trials and paper cuts as well as the whimsical image of performing PCI on CV surgeons.

This is a great, honest and finaly fare conversation.

Would like to hear other topics.

It is important to remember that a topic such as left main PCi vs CABG or for that matter 3 vessel disease PCI vs CABG needs to be discussed in a more detailed fashion than has been done in this first conversation. The interaction holds one’s interest but is too much on the surface.

There are after all other data ( Korean, French and German) already published on left main stenting  in the recent past that merited mention to add more substance.

great idea for a medical 'radio show'!

It was difficult to ascertain if any definitive conclusions could be reached on the SYNTAX & FREEDOM TRIAL and CABG

And  if these trial are 'underpowered' what would make these trials more balanced so that more conclusive conclusions could be concluded?
